In our quest to support the bands we love we buy their EPs, watch their videos, recommend them to friends and go to gigs, but what’s one of the best ways to show our support? The answer is merch!
We’ve all been there, done that and, quite literally, bought the t-shirt! Wearing your favourite band’s merch isn’t just a case of everything else being in the wash…nope, it’s a connection to the band and their music, it’s a display of your admiration and respect for your favourite artistes, and it’s a bad-ass way to grow your never ending collection of black t-shirts – or is that just us?
Buying a t-shirt at a gig isn’t just a momento of a great night, it’s wearing our musical hearts on our sleeves, or emblazoned across our chest…and t-shirts are generally the biggest merch seller for any band, and usually the best way for a band to make some money.
So the team at This Noise Rocks wanted to do something more, and that’s why we designed our Support New & Live Music t-shirts in the summer of 2018. We ran a campaign that required a minimum of ten orders before going to print, this gave us an opportunity to provide merch with no risk to the buyers or to us if the campaign was unsuccessful.
We thought it wouldn’t hurt to give the campaign a chance, so we uploaded a graphic, which simply encourages all who see it to support those new bands just breaking into the industry, the independents, the great unsigned, the DIY bands putting their heart and soul (and usually all their own money) into travelling all over the country to play a 30 minute set every night – not for the money but for the joy it brings them to perform and do what they love – those are the bands that we love, so why not share that love!
So our first campaign was a success, people bought our t-shirts because they got it – they understood what we were doing because they were doing it too; they were going to gigs and supporting those up and coming bands and this made us so proud.
A profit was made from the t-shirts, a profit that we put back into doing what we love. We’ve bought badges for a number of bands to help them, we’ve even designed a number of badges for This Noise Rocks which we give away at gigs and in competitions to help spread our message, and all of these things are done for free, out of love for what we do!
So now we’re running a new campaign, bringing back the same important message; not only on t-shirts but hoodies too (which we’re really excited about, but that’s just us).
If you’re interested or you want to know a bit more about how these campaigns work, our Mercht campaign can be found HERE!

Both the t-shirts and hoodies are available in black, grey, navy and maroon, and come in sizes S to XXL. The campaign runs for 21 days, and in that time we hope to reach our minimum target of ten orders for the campaign to successfully go to print.
The beauty of this campaign is that only ordered items will ever be printed, rather than mass produced, so by buying one of our shirts or hoodies you’re buying a limited edition, and you’re also funding the production of future promotional items designed to help the bands we all support and to spread the word about supporting new and live music.Â
We’d like to thank everyone who made out first campaign in 2018 such a success and we look forward with crossed fingers to hopefully having another successful campaign with this range!
