Our ever-changing ‘This Noise Rocks’ Spotify Playlist.

We started a Spotify playlist at the suggestion of a musician friend (thanks Reece), and because we’re here to represent the newer bands and the unsigned artists, along with some of our favourites, so with that our first Spotify playlist – named This Noise Rocks – was born.

We now like to keep the list at a maximum of 50 songs, any longer and we run the risk of the listener getting bored after the first few hours!

It’s also ever-changing – why start a new playlist every week or month when we can change things up and keep the playlist fresh? We do have loyal listeners and followers, and we hope they’ve found something new to listen to while they check out ‘This Noise Rocks’!

This playlist currently features bands that we know and love, alongside bands from all over the world. There’s punk pop, alt-rock, post hardcore and more, there’s thoughtful songs, angry songs, love songs – songs for almost everyone – but all have one thing in common; a determination to reach out to the listener and make them feel something, communicate to them, deliver a message or touch them in some way, and that’s the best thing about music – the way it makes you feel.

So how do we choose the bands? Well, like any music fans we started with what we know and love, bands we’ve seen live or bands that stir something inside us. As the playlist grew so did the amount of bands we began to interact with; artists who embodied what we love about music and the unsigned scene, bands with a real passion for what they do  – musicians who just got it and got us!

Now, when someone gets in touch, we will listen to their music and if we think it will work then we’ll add it – yes, this does mean that for every new song added another has to go, but change is good and we don’t want this playlist to get old or boring, we all need something new to listen to!

Minus Alive – our new music recommendation.

Our very first new music recommendation is a band that we know and already love, and we hope you’ll give them a listen!

Minus Alive are an Alt-Rock four piece, born on the first day of 2018, who just released their first single ‘From The Grey House’ – check out the video below.

We recently followed Ollie, Max, Robin and Sam as they ventured out on their first UK tour with Autumn Ruin and Hyde Project! The band successfully won over the crowds and gained new fans in Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham, London and their hometown of Southampton. Definitely a band to watch out for in the future, and if you get the chance to see them perform live we highly recommend it – you won’t be disappointed.

Supporting new & live music with the power of social media!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Our team has been supporting new and live music in many ways over the years, we go to see bands together and hang out as often as we can – we even met at a gig!

We have experience in various fields and we’re passionate about new bands, our local live music scene, unsigned bands – the underdogs – the ones who deserve to be seen and heard by a wider audience.

We use our social media accounts to recommend new bands, feature them on our playlists and explore the ways we can support them online while encouraging others to do the same. We’ve also designed and produced merch items and promotional materials for bands, and sometimes we make #ThisNoiseRocks badges to hand out at gigs! Recently we had a successful t-shirt campaign go to print, featuring the ‘Support New & Live Music’ design (above) – if you purchased one of our t-shirts (thank you so much) or picked up a badge to support us, please take a photo and tag us on social media, we’d love to see you all and we thank you for supporting what we do!

Although a lot of musicians and industry friends know who we are personally we try our best to focus on one thing; the music! We’re not here to talk about ourselves, we’re here to share the love and spread the word about the music that we love!

What is ThisNoiseRocks? Otherwise known as the awkward first blog post!

ThisNoiseRocks is a team of like-minded friends who share a passion for new bands and live music, and love to make a noise about it online! We’ve worked with a lot of bands, both online and off, and after a gig we decided to do something that could help a lot more bands to reach even more people.
